1 ทำวัตรเช้า 
Morning Chanting

Arahaṃ sammā-sambuddho bhagavā.                             The Blessed One is Worthy&
                                                                                                Self-awakened.
Buddhaṃ bhagavantaṃ abhivādemi                  I bow down before the Awakened,
                                                                                                Blessed One.

Svākkhāto bhagavatā dhammo.                                          The Dhamma is well-expounded
by the Blessed One.(อ.ถนอม)
Dhammaṃ namasāmi.                                                               I pay homage to the Dhamma.

Supatipanno bhagavato sāvaka-sangho.                        The Sangha of the Blessed On’s
                                                                                                Disciples has practiced well.
Sanghaṃ namāmi.                                                       I pay respect to the Sangha.

Invocation ( by leader):

Yam-amha kho mayaṃ bhagavantaṃ                               We have gone for refuge to the Blessed
Saraṇam gatā,                                                                            One,
(uddissa pabbajitā) yo no bhagavā satthā     ( have gone forth on account of) the
                                                                                                Blessed One who  is our Teacher.
Yassa ca mayaṃ bhagavato dhammaṃ                          and in whose dhamma we delight.
Rocema.
Imehi sakkārehi taṃ bhagavantaṃ                    With these offerings we worship most 
Sasaddhammaṃ sasāvaka-sanghaṃ                               highly that Blessed One together with
Abhipūjayāma.                                                                               The True Dhamma& the sangha of his
                                                                                                Disciples.
Handa mayaṃ buddhassa bhagato                    Now let us chant the preliminary passage
Pubba-bhāganamakaraṃ karoma se:                               in homage to the Awakened One, the
                                                                                                Blessed One:

[Namo tassa] bhagavato arahato sammā-     Homage to the Blessed One, the Worthy
Sambuddhassa. ( Three times)                                 One, the Rightly Self-awakened One.


Praise for the Buddha

[Yo so tathāgato] arahaṃ sammā-                     He who has attained the Truth, the
Sambuddho,                                                                    Worthy One, Rightly Self-awakened,

Vijjā-carana-sampanno sugato tokavidū,                       consummate in knowledge& conduct,
                                                                                                One who has gone the good way, knower
                                                                                                Of the cosmos,

Anuttaro purisa-damma-sarathi                                           unexcelled trainer of those who can be
Satthā deva-manussānaṃ buddho bhagavā;                taught, teacher of human& divine beings;
                                                                                                Awakened; blessed;

Yo imaṃ lokaṃ sadevakaṃ samārakaṃ                        who made known- having realized it
Sabrahmakaṃ,                                                                               through direct knowledge-this world
Sassamaṇa-brahmaṇim pajaṃ sadeva-                          with its devas, maras,maras, & brahamas
Manussaṃ sayaṃ abhiñña sacchikatvā                         its generations with their contemplatives
Pavedesi.                                                                          & priests, their rulers & common people;

Yo dhammaṃ desesi adi-kalyānaṃ                   who explained the Dhamma fine in the
Majjhe-kalyanaṃ pariyosāna-kalyaṇaṃ;                        beginning, fine in the middle;fine in
                                                                                                The end;

Satthaṃ sabbayañjanaṃ kevalaparipuṇṇaṃ                who expounded the holy life both in its
Parisuddhaṃ brahmacariyaṃ pakāsesi,                       particulars&in its essence,entirely
                                                                                                Complete, surepassingly pure:

Tam-ahaṃ bhagavantaṃ abhipūjayāmi,                         I worship most highly that Blessed  One,
Tam-ahaṃ bhagavantaṃ sirasā namāmi.      To that Blessed One I bow my head
                                                                                                Down.

Uju-patipanno bhagavato sāvaka-                      the Sangho of the Blessed One’s
Saṅgho,                                                                              disciples who have practiced
                                                                                                Straightforwardly,
ñāñāpatipanno bhagavato sāvaka-                    the Sangha of the Blessed One’s
Saṅgho,                                                                              disciples who have practiced
                                                                                                Methodically,
Sāmīci-patipanno bhagavato                                 the Sangha of the Blessed One’s 
 sāvaka-saṅgho,                                                            disciples who have practiced
                                                                                                Masterfully,
Yadidaṃ cattāri purisa-yugāni                                              i.e.the four pairs-the eight types-of
Attha purisa-puggalā:                                                                Noble Ones:

Esa bhagavato sāvaka-saṅgho-                                          That is the Sangha of the Blessed
                                                                                                One’s disciples-
Āhuneyyo pāhuneyyo dakkhineyyo                   whorthy of gift, worthy of hospitality,
Anjli-karaṇīyo,                                                                                worthy of offerings, worthy of respect,

Anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassa:                 the incokmparable field of merit for the
                                                                                                World.
Tam-ahaṃ saṅghaṃ abhipūjayāmi                     I worship most highly that Sangha,                              
Tam-ahamsaṅghaṃ sirasā namāmi.                  To that Sangha I bow my head down.

 Salutation to the Triple Gem & The Topics for Chastened Dispassion

Hand mayaṃ ratanattayappanāmagathāyo   Now let us recite the stanzas in salutation
Ceva sanvegaparikittana pāthanca                   to the Triple Gem together with
Bhanāma se.                                                                   the passage on the topics inspiring
                                                                                                A sense of chastened dispassion.

Buddho susuddho karunāmahannavo,                             The Buddha, well-purified, with
Yoccantasuddhabbarañānalocano,                    ocean-like compassion,

Lokassa pāpūpakilesaghātako,                                         Possessed of the eye of knowledge
                                                                                                Completely purified,
Vandāmi buddhaṃ ahamādarena taṃ.                             Destroyer of the evils&corruptions
                                                                                Of the world
                                                                                                I revere that Buddha with devotion.
Dhammo padīpo viya tassa satthuno,                              The Teacher’s Dhamma, like a lamp,
Yo maggapakamatabhedabhinnako,                 divided into Path, Fruition,& the
                                                                                                Deathless,
Lokuttaro yo ca tadatthadīpano,                                          nptj tramscemdemt ( itself)& showing
                                                                                                The way to that goal:
Vandāmi dhammaṃ ahamadarena tam.                        I revere that Dhamma with devotion.
Saṅgho sukhettabbhayatikhettasaññito,                        The Sangha, called a field better than
                                                                                                The best,
Yo ditthasanto sugatānubodhako,                      who have seen peace, awakening after
                                                                                                The one gone the good way,
Lolappahīno ariyo sumedhaso,                                             who have abandoned carelessness-
                                                                                                The noble ones, the wise:
Vandāmi saṅghaṃ ahamādarena taṃ.                             I revere that Sangha with devotion.
Iccevamekantabhipūjaneyyakaṃ,                      By the power of the merit I have made
Vatthuttayaṃ vandayatabhisaṅghataṃ,                         in giving reverence to the Triple Gem
Puññaṃ maya yaṃ mama subbupaddavā,    worthy of only the highest homage,
Ma hontu ve tassa pabhāvasiddhiyā.                               May all my obstructions cease to be.                                                         
Samvegaparikittanapatha:  Passages conducive to Dispassionateness

Idha tathāgato loke uppanno                                 Here, One attained to the Truth,
Arahaṃ sammā-sambuddho,                                 Worthy & Rightly Self-awakened,
                                                                                                Has appeared in the world,
Dhammo ca desito niyyaniko                                                And Dhamma is explained, leadking
Upasamiko parinibbaniko                                        out( of samsara), calming, tending
Sambodhagāmi sugatappavedito.                      Toward total Nibbana, going to
                                                                                                Self-awakening, declared by one who
                                                                                                Has gone the good way.
Mayan-taṃ dhammaṃ sutvā                                  Having heard the Dhamma, we know
Evaṃ jānāma,                                                                                this:

Jātipi dukkhā jarāpi dukkhā                                   Birth is stressful, ageing is stressful,
Maranampi dukkhaṃ,                                                 death is stressful,

Soka-parideva-dukkha-domanassupayasāpi               Sorrow, lamentation,pain,distress, &
Dukkhā,                                                                              despair are stressful,

Appiyehi sampayogo dukkho piyehi                  Association with things disliked  is
Vippayogo dukkho yamp’iccham na                  stressful, separation from things liked
Labbhati tampi dukkhaṃ,                                        is stressful, not getting what one wants
                                                                                                Is stressful,

Sankhittena pancupadānakkhandha dukkhā,              In short, the five aggregates for clinging
                                                                                                Are stressful,
Seyyathīdaṃ:                                                                 Namely:
Rūpūpādānakkhandho,                                                              Form as an aggregate for clinging,
Vedanūpādānakkhandho,                                        Feeling as an aggregate for clinging,
Saññūpādānakkhandho,                                           Perception as an aggregate for  clinging,
Sankhārūpādānakkhandho,                                    Mental processes as an aggregate for
                                                                                                Clinging,
Viññānūpādānakkhandho.                                       Consciousness as an aggregate for
                                                                                                Clinging.
Yesaṃ pariññāya,                                                        So that they might fully understand
Dharamāno so bhagavā,                                           this, the Blessed One, while still alive,
Evaṃ bahulaṃ sāvake vineti,                                               often instructed his listeners in this way;

Evam bhāgā ca panasa bhagavato                    Many times did he emphasize this part
Sāvakesu anusāsanī,Bahulaṃ pavattati:                       of his admonition:

Rūpaṃ aniccaṃ,                                                         “Form is inconstant,
Vedanā aniccā,                                                                              Feeling is inconstant,
Saññā aniccā,                                                                            Mental process is inconstant,( อ.ถนอม)
Saṅkhārā aniccā,                                                          Mental process is inconstant,
Viññānaṃ aniccaṃ,                                                    Consciousness is inconstant,
Rūpaṃ anattā,                                                                                Form is not-self,
Vedanā anattā,                                                                              Feeling is not-self,
Saññā anattā,                                                                 Perception is not-self,
Saṅkhārā  anattā,                                                         Mental processes is not-self,
Vimmññānaṃ anattā,                                                 Consciousness are not-self,
Sabbhe sankhārā aniccā,                                        All processes are inconstant,
Sabbhe dhammā anattāti.”                                      All phenomena are not-self.”

Te (women: Tā) mayaṃ,                                           All of us,
Otinnāmaha jātiyā jarā-maranena,                     beset by birth, ageing, &death,
Sokehi paridevehi dukkhehi domanassehi    by sorrows, lamentations, pains,
Upāyāsehi,                                                                       distresses, & despairs, beset by
Dukkhotinnā dukkha-paretā,                                  stress, overcome with stress(consider),

Appeva nam’imassa kevalassa                                           “O, that the end of this entire mass
Dukkhakkhandhassa antakiriya                                           of suffering & stress might be
paññāyethāti                                                                   known!”

( Monks  & Novices)

Cira-parinibbutampi taṃ bhagavantaṃ                            Though the total Liberation of the
Uddissa arahantaṃ sammā-sambuddhaṃ,    Blessed One, the Worthy One, the
Saddhā agārasmā anāgāriyam pabbajitā,      Rightly Self-awakened One, was
                                                                                                Long ago, we have gone forth in faith
                                                                                                From home to homelessness with
                                                                                                Dedication to him.
Tasmiṃ bhagavati brahma-cariyaṃ carāma,               We practice that Blessed One’s
                                                                                                Holy life,
( Bhikkhunaṃ sikkhā-sājivā-samāpanaṃ.      Fully endowed with the bhikkhus’
                                                                                                Training & livelihood.)
Taṃ no brhma-cariyaṃ,                                                            May this holy life of ours being about
Imassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa                         the end of this entire mass of
Antakiriyāya samvattatu.                                        Suffering & stress.

(Others)

Cira-parinibbutampi taṃ                                           Though the total Liveration of the
Bhagavantaṃsaraṇaṃ gatā,                                  Blessed One, the Worthy One, the
Dhammañca bhikkhu-saṅghañca,                       Rightly Self-awakened One, was long
                                                                                                Ago, we have gone for refuge in him
                                                                                                In the Dhamma, & in the  Bhikkhu
                                                                                                Sangha,
Tassa bhagavto sāsanaṃ yathā-sati                                We attend to the instruction of the
Yathā-balaṃ manasikaroma,                                 Blessed One, as far as our mindfulness
Anupatipajjāma,                                                                         & strength will allow, and we practice
                                                                                                Accordingly.
Sā sā no patipatti,
Imassa kevalassa dukkhakkhandhassa                         May this practice of our bring about
Antakiriyāya samvattatu.                                        The end of this entire mass of suffering
                                                                                                & stress.

2 ตังขณิกะปัจจเวกขะณะปาฐะ
Taṅkhanika-paccavekkhana patha                              Reflection at the Moment of Using
                                                                                                The Requisites

Handa mayaṃ taṅkhanika-paccavekkhana   Now let us recite the passage for
Pathaṃ bhanāma se                                                   reflection at the moment (of using
                                                                                                The requisites):
(All)

Patisaṅkhā yoniso civaraṃ parisevāmi                          Considering it thoughtfully, I use the
                                                                                                Robe,
Yāvadeva sitassa paṭighātāya,                                           Simply to counteract the cold,
Unhassa paṭighātāya,                                                                To counteract the heat,
Daṃsa-makasa-vātatapa-siriṃsapa-                                To counteract the touch of flies,
Samphassānaṃ paṭighātāya,                                                mosquitoes, wind, sun,& reptiles;
Yāvadeva hirikopina-paticchādan’atthaṃ.    Simply for the purpose of covering
                                                                                                The parts of the body that cause shame.
Patisaṅkhā yoniso pindapātaṃ patisevami, Considering it thoughtfully, I use food,
Neva davāya na madāya na maṇdanāya                       neither  playfully, nor for intoxication,
na vibhūsanāya,                                                            nor for putting on bulk, nor
                                                                                                for beautification,
Yāvadeva imassa kāyassa ṭhitiya                     But simply for the survival &
yapanāya vihiṃsuparatiyā                                      continuance of this body, for ending its
brahma-cariyānuggahāya,                                       afflictions, for the support of the holy life
Iti pūraṇañca vedanaṃ patihaṅkhāmi                               (Thinking,) Thus will I destroy old
Navanca vedanaṃ na uppādessāmi,                                feelings ( of hunger) and not create new
                                                                                                Feelings ( from overeating.)
Yātra ca me bhavissati anavajjatā                     I will maintain myself, be  blameless,
Ca phāsu-vihārocāti.                                                  & live in comfort.
Patisaṅkhā yoniso senāsanaṃ patisevāmi, Considering it thoughtfully, I use the
                                                                                                lodging.
Yāvadeva sītassa paṭighātāya,                                           Simply to counteract the cold,
Unhassa paṭighātāya,                                                                To counteract the heat,
Daṃsa-mākasa-vātatapa-siriṃsapa-                                To counteract the touch of flies, wind,
Samphassānaṃ paṭighātāya,                                                sun, & reptiles;
Yāvadeva utūparissaya-vinodanaṃ                  Simply for protection from the
Paṭisallānarām’atthaṃ.                                                            Inclemencies  of weather and for the
                                                                                                Enjoyment of seclusion.
Patisaṇkhā yoniso gilāna-paccaya-                  Considering them thoughtfully, I use
Bhesajja-parikkhāraṃ patisevāmi,                    medicinal requisites for  curing the sick,
Yāvadeva uppannānam veyyabādhikānaṃ   Simply to counteract any pains of illness
Vedanānaṃ paṭighātāya,                                         that have arisen,
Abyāpajjhā-paramatāyāti.                                       And for maximum freedom from disease.

3 อะภิณหปัจจเวกขณะปาฐะ : abhinhapaccevakkhaṇapātha:
Five Subjects for Frequent Recollection.

Handa mayaṃ abhiṇhapaccavekkhaṇa pāthaṃ bhaṇama se.
Let us now recite the passage for frequent recollection.

( All)
Jara dhammomhi jaraṃ anatīto                            I am subject to ageing. Ageing is unavoidable.
Byādhi-dhammomhi byadhiṃ anatīto                I am subject to illness. Illness is
                                                                                                Unavoidable.
Maraṇa-dhammomhi maraṇaṃ anatīto             I am subject to death. Death is
                                                                                                Unavoidable.
Sabbehi me piyehi manapehi nāna-bhavo      I will grow different, separate from all that
Vina-bhavo                                                                       is dear & appealing to me.
Kammassakomhi kamma-dāyādo                       I am the owner of my actions, heir to my
Kamma-yoni kamma-bandhu                                 actions, born of my actions, related
Kamma-paṭisraṇo                                                         through my actions, and live dependent
                                                                                                On my actions.
Yaṃ kammaṃ karissāmi                                          Whatever I do,
Kalyaṇaṃ vā pāpakaṃ vā                                       for good or for evil, to that
Tassa dāyādo bhavissāmi.                                     will fall heir
Evaṃ amhehi abhiṇhaṃ paccavekkhitabbaṃ.            We should often reflect on this.

4 ปัตติทานะคาถา  :  Sabbapattidanagatha : Verse for the Dedication of Merits toward all beings.

Puññassidāni katassa,                                                             May the merits made by me now or at
Yānaññāni katāni me,                                                                some other time, be shared
Tesañca bhāgino hontu,                                                           among all beings here infinite,
Sattānantappamānakā,                                                             immeasurable;
Ye piyā guṇavantā ca,                                                               those dear to me and virtuous as
Mayhaṃ mātāpitādayo,                                                             mother or as father are,
Diṭṭhā me capyadiṭṭhā vā,                                       the seen and the invisible,
Aññe majjhattaverino,                                                               to others neutral, hostile too;
Sattā iṭṭhanti lokasmiṃ,                                                           beings established in the world
Tebhūmmā catuyonikā,                                                             upon three spheres, four kinds  of birth,
Pañcekacatuvokārā,                                                   five, one, or four constutuents
Saṃsarantā bhavābhave,                                        wandering in realms small and great,
Ñātaṃ ye pattidānamme,                                         my merit-dedication here having
Anumodantu te sayaṃ,                                                             known may they rejoice,
Ye cimaṃ nappajānanti,                                                           and those who do not know of this
Devā tesaṃ nivedayuṃ,                                                           may deities announce to them,
Mayā dinnāna puññānaṃ,                                        By rejoicing in this cause, this gift of
Anumodanahetunā,                                                      merits (puñña) given by me,
Sabbe sattā sadā hontu,                                          may beings all forever live a happy
Averā sukhajīvino,                                                       live and free from hate, and may they
Khemappadanca pappontu,                                    find the Path Secure and their good
Tesāsā sijjataṃ subhāti.                                                         Wishes all succeed.

1.guide to the Recollection of the Buddha.

[ Tam khō pana bhagavantaṃ ] evaṃ                               This fine report of the Blessed One’s
Kalyānō kittisaddhō abbhuggatō,                       reputation has spread for & wide:

Itipi sō bhagavā arahaṃ sammā-                        He is a Blessed One, a Worthy One,
Sambuddhō,                                                                   Rightly Self-awakened One,
Vijjācaranasampannō,                                                               consummate in knowledge & conduct
Sugatō,                                                                                           one who has gone away,
Lōkavidū,                                                                          knower of the cosmos,
Anuttarō pusisa-damma-sārathi                                          unexcelled trainer of those who can be
Satthā dēvamanussānaṃ buddhō bhagavāti.              Taught, teacher of human & divine
                                                                                                Beings; awakened; blessed.
Verses in Celebration of the Buddha

Handa mayaṃ buddhabhigitiṃ karōma sē:    Now let us chant in celebration of the
                                                                                                Buddha:
[All]
[Buddh’vārahanta] –varatadigunābhiyuttō,    The Buddha, endowed with such
                                                                                                Virtues as highest worthiness:
Suddhābhiññāna-karuṇāhi samāgatattō,                        In him, purity, supreme knowledge,
                                                                                                & compassion converge.
Bōdhēsi yō sujanataṃ kamalaṃ va sūrō,                       He awakens good people like the sun
                                                                                                Does the lutus.
Vandām’ahaṅ tam-araṇaṃ sirasā jinendaṃ. I revere with my head that Peaceful One,
                                                                                                The Conqueror Supreme.
Buddho yō sabba-pāninaṃ saraṇaṃ                 the Buddha who for all beings is the
Khemem-uttamaṃ,                                                      secure, the highest refuge,
Pathamānussaṭiṭṭhānaṃ vandāmi taṃ                            The first theme for recollection: I revere
Sirēnahaṃ,                                                                       him with my head.

                                                                                                Who have practiced masterfully,
Yadidaṃ cattāri purisa-yugāni aṭṭha                 i.e., the four pairs – the eight types – of Noble

Daṃsa-makasa-vātātapa-siriṃsapa-                                To counteract the touch of flies,
Samphassānaṃ patighātāya,                                                mosquitoes, wind,sun,&reptiles;
Yāvadeva hirikopina-paticchādan’                     Simply for the purpose of covering
Atthaṃ.                                                                                           The parts of the body that cause
                                                                                                Shame.
Ajja mayā appaccavekkhitvā yo                                       Whatever alms food  I used today
Pindapāto paribhutto,                                                                without consideration,
So neva davāya na madāya na                                             Was not used playfully, nor for
Mandanāya na vibhūsanaṭṭhāya,                         intoxication, nor for putting on
                                                                                                Bulk, nor for beautification,
Yāvadeva imassa kāyassa thitiyā                     But simply for the survival &
Yapanāya vihiṃsuparatiya                                     continuance of this body, for
Braham-cariyānuggāhāya,                                      ending its afflictions, for the

Iti pūrānanca vedanaṃ patihaṅkhāmi                               (Thinking,) Thus will I destroy

Anīgho homi                                                                     May I be free from trouble.
Sukhī attānaṃ parihārāmi                                       May I look after myself with ease.

2.Metta –เมตตาสัตว์ Good will
Sabbe sattā sukhita hontu.                                    May all living beings behappy.
Sabbe sattā averā hontu.                                        May all living beings be free from

Sabbe sattā abyāpajjhā hontu.                                             May all living beings be free from

Laddha-sampattito mā vigacchantu.                 Of the good fortune they have attained.

5. อุเบกขา  Upekkha – Equainmity.
Sabbe sattā kammassakā                                       All living beings are the owners of their
                                                                                                Actions,
Kamma-dāyādā                                                                          heir to their actions,
Kamma-yoni                                                                    born of their actions,
Kamma-bandhū                                                                              related through their actions,
Kamma-patisaranā.                                                     And live dependent on their actions.
Yaṃ kammaṃ karissanti                                         Whatever they do,
Kallāyanaṃ vā pāpakaṃ vā                                   for good or for evil,
Tassa dāyādā bhavissanti.                                    To that will they fall heir.
Sabbe sattā sadā hontu                                                            May all beings live happily
Averā suha-jīvino.                                                        Free from animosity.
Kataṃ puñña-phalaṃ mayhaṃ                                          May all share in the blessings
Sabbe bhagī bhavantu te.                                        Springing from the good I have done.
Hotu sabbaṃ sumangalaṃ.                                    May there be every good blessing
Rakkhantu sabba-dévatā.                                        May the devas protect you.

Ye piviṃsu narāsbhā.                                                                the Immortal taste of the Four Noble Truths.
2.Tanhaṅkarādayo Buddhā,                                    The twenty-eight Buddhas, one of whom was
Aṭṭhavīsatināyakā,                                                      Taṇhaṅkara Buddha, were true leader of the
Sabbe patiṭṭhitā mayhaṃ,                                       world, May each and every one of those wise
Matthake te munissarā.                                            Sages be dwelling upon the crown of my head.
3. Sīse patiṭṭhito mayhaṃ,                                      May all the Buddhas be enshrined on my
Buddho Dhammo davilocane,                                                head and in my eyes their Sacred Teaching;
Saṅgho patiṭṭhito mayhaṃ,                                     in my heart the community of noble disciples
Ure sabbagunākaro.                                                    of the Blessed One who are the spring of all virtues.
4. Hadaye me  Anuruddho,                                      May Anuruddha thera dwells in my heart,
Sarīputto ca dakkhiṇe,                                                              Sārīputta Thera the Chief Disciple at my right
KoṇḍaYYo ca vāmake,                                                              side, the Elder Koṇḍañña at the back and
Moggallāno ca vāmake.                                            Moggallāna the other Chief Dsciple be at the left
5. Dakkhiṇe savane mayhaṃ,                                               Likewise, may Ānanda and Rāhula dwell at
Āsuṃ Ānanda Rāulo,                                                  my right ear,
Kassapo ca Mahānāmo,                                                           and at my left ear dwell Kassapa and
Ubhāsuṃ vāmasotake.                                                         Mahānāma.
6. Kesante piṭṭhibhāgasmiṃ,                                                May the mighty sage, Sobhita, seated in all
Suriyo va pabhaṅkaro,                                                              his glory, like the blazing sun,
Nisinno sirisampanno,                                                               dwell upon every hair-tip
Sobhito munipuṅgavo.                                                               On my back.
7. Kumārakassapo thero,                                          May Kumārakassapa Thera, one who
Mahesī cittavādako,                                                   seeks the greatest virtues, commands fine
So mayhaṃ vadane niccaṃ,                                  speech and is the spring of fine virtues,
Patiṭṭhāsi guṇākaro.                                                   Always be the dwelling guardian of my mouth.
8. Puṇṇo Aṅgulimālo ca,                                           May these five Elders: Puṇṇa Thera,
Upālī Nanda Sīvalī,                                                      Aṅgulimāla Thera, Upālī Thera, Nanda
Therā pañca ime jātā,                                                                Thera, and Sīvalī Thera, be just like the
Nalāṭe tilakā mama.                                                    auspicious marking Anointed on my forehead.
9. SesāsIti mahātherā,                                                              May all the rest of the eighty great disciples
Vijitā jinasāvakā,                                                         and sons of the Buddha, the Victorious One,
Etesīti mahātherā,                                                       who have defeated all their defilements
Jitavanto jinorasā,                                                       and prosper by the  moral disciplines they
Jalantā sīlatejena,                                                       adhere to, condescend in to be with me all
Aṅganaṃgesu saṇṭhitā.                                                            The minor and major organs  of mine.
10. Ratanaṃ purato āsi,                                                           May the Ratana Sutta be remained to my
Dakkhine mettasuttakaṃ,                                       front, may the Metta sutta be at my right
Dhajaggaṃ pacchato āsi,                                        side, may the Dhajakgga Sutta be remained
Vāme Aṅgulimālakaṃ.                                                              At the back and may the Aṅgulimāla Sutta be
                                                                                                Remained at my left.
11. Khandhamorapatittañca,                                   The Khandha Paritta, Mora Paritta, Ātānātiya
Ātānāṭiyasuttakaṃ,                                                    Paritta and the rest form a sheltering frame
Ākāse chadanaṃ āsi,                                                                for me, just like the canopy above or
Sesā pākārasṇṭhitā.                                                    The wall around me.
12. Jināṇāvarasaṃyuttā,                                           May the sublime Dhamma which is the
Sattappākāralaṅkatā,                                                power of the Victorious One be adorned upon me just
Vātapittādisañjātā,                                                      like a seven-layer wall protecting me from all
Bāhirajjhattupaddavā.                                                               Outside and inside dangers or perils which
                                                                                                may Arise from whatever natural causes,
                                                                                                wind or bile So that there will be none of 
                                                                                                these dangers Remain.
13.Asesā vinayaṃ yantu,                                         Let all the remaining illness be got rid of by
Anantajinatejasā,                                                         the power of the Victorious One whose
Vasato me sakiccena,                                                               virtues are endless, all throughout the time
Sadā sambuddhapañjare.                                        when I still Observe the moral person like, for
                                                                                                example, the Buddha.
14. Jinapañjaramajjhamhi,                                       May all those great and brave Noble Ones
Viharantaṃ mahītale,                                                 who live in the midst of the victorious One
Sadā pālentu maṃ sabbe,                                       on this earth protect
Te mahāpurisā sabhā.                                                               And guard me.
15. Iccevamanto,                                                           Indeed, thus am I well protected as all the
Sugutto surakkho,                                                        distresses have been rid of by the Victorious
Jinānubhāvena jitupaddavo,                                  One; so may whatever potential dangers
Dhammānuvhāvena                                                     there may be in the future, be eliminated by
Jitārisaṅgo,                                                                      the power of the Dhamma and the Saṅgha
Saṅghānubhāvena,                                                      and may the same power of the truth of
Jitantarāyo,                                                                     Dhamma protect and guide me that I may
Saddhammānubhavapālito,                                    live and thrive in the path of
Carāmi jinapañjareti.                                                  Victorious One.

Iminā puññakamména upajjhayā gunuttarā, By this meritorious deed(may) my
                                                                                                Highly virtuous preceptor,
ācariyūpakārā ca Mātāpitā ca ñatakā                              my helpful teachers, my dear mother,
Piya mamaṃ.                                                                  Father and relatives.
Suriyo candimā  rājā Gunavantā narāpi ca,  The devas of sun and moon, all virtuous
                                                                                                Humans.
Brahmamārā ca indā ca Lokapālā ca devatā.              Brahmas,Maras,Indra and the world
                                                                                                Protecting Devas.
Yamo mittā manussā ca Majjhattā                     Yama (Devas of the under-world), 
verikāpi ca.                                                                      friends, humans,indifferents ones,
                                                                                                enemies too,
Sabbe sattā sukhī hontu                                          may all beings be happy, sharing
puññāni pakatāni me.                                                 The merit I have done.
Sukkhaṅca tividhaṃ dentu                                     May the happiness be attained, soon
Khippaṃ pāpétha vo mataṃ.                                 May all gain release from evil.
Iminā puññakamména                                                                By this meritorious deed and though
Iminā uddisséna ca                                                     this sharing,
Khippāhaṃ sulabhé céva                                         Soon, indeed may I attain to the good,
Tanhupādānachédanaṃ.                                          To the cutting off of craving and
                                                                                                Attachments,
Ye santāné hinā dhammā                                        All that is low in this flux of being,
Yāva nibbānato mamaṃ,                                         while striving for my deliverance,
Nassantu sabbadā yéva                                                           may such evil everywhere be destroyed,
Yattha jāto bhavé bhavé.                                         As one reborn in existence after
                                                                                                Existence.
Ujucittaṃ satipaññā                                                    May there be the upright mind,
Sallekho viriyaṃhinā,                                                                thoughtful wisdom, purity and energy
                                                                                                To breach the defilement,
Marā labhantu nokāsaṃ                                                           May evil( personified as Maras) never
Kātunca viriyésu me.                                                 Approach me, through the power of
                                                                                                My action and energy.
Buddhadhīpavaro nātho                                                            Through such power of  the Lord
Dhammo nātho varuttamo,                                      Buddha, the Law, loft, supreme and best,
Natho paccékabuddho ca                                        the Silent Buddha and the Noble
Saṅgho nathottaro mamaṃ,                                   Disciples of the Buddha, my highest
                                                                                                Refuge,
Tesottamānubhāvéna                                                                even unto final birth, may evils never
Mārokāsaṃ labhantu mā.                                         Approach me.
Dasapuññānubhāvena,                                                              Through the power of Ten Meritorious
Mārokāsaṃ labhantu mā.                                        Deed, may evils never approach me.

Bhanāma sé.                                                                   (of merit) to deities at the beginning

Yā dévatā santi vihāravāsinī,                                               The deities which dwell in the temple,
Thūpé gharé bodhigharé tahiṃ tahiṃ,                              in the pagoda, in the bodhi three,
Tā dhammadānena bhavantu pūjitā,                  those deities we have worshipped with
                                                                                                the  Gieft of Truth,
Sotthiṃ karontédha vihāramandalé,                 may they all do blessing at the circle of
                                                                                                Living.
Therā ca majjhā navakā ca bhikkhavo,                           Monks who are elders, those of middle
                                                                                                Rank, those who are new.
Sārāmikā dānapatī upāsakā,                                 laymen and laywomen, ones in charge of
                                                                                                Alms giving and temple dwellers,
Gāmā ca desā nigamā ca issarā,                        all house-holders, foreigners, villagers,
                                                                                                Or the chief ones,
Sappānabhūtā sukhitā bhavantu té.                  May they and all creatures attain
                                                                                                Happiness.
Jalābujā yepi ca andasambhavā,                        May all creatures whether born from
                                                                                                Womb,from an egg,
Saṃsedajātā athavopapātikā,                                              from moisture, or those who are of
                                                                                                Spontaneous births,
Niyyānikaṃ dhammavaraṃ paticca té,                            may they have the precious Dhamma
                                                                                                Which leads to the good way;
Sabbépi dukkhassa karontu saṅkhayaṃ.                      May all beings make an end of suffering.
Thātu ciraṃ sataṃ dhammo,                                 May the Dhamma of good people last
                                                                                                Long.
Dhammaddharā ca puggalā.                                   And may righteous people live long.
Saṅgho hotu samaggovā                                          May the Sangha be ever united and ready
Atthāya ca hitāya ca,                                                 to bring bnefits and assistance.
Amhé rakkhatu saddhammo                                   May the good Dhamma protect us all and
Sabbépi  Dhammacārino,                                         care for all who uphold the Dhamma.
Vuddhiṃ sampāpuṇeyyāma                                   May we all progress in the Dhamma
Dhammé ariyappavédité.                                         Which the Noble One has expounded.

9 ติโลกะวิชะยะราชะปัตติทานะคาถา : Tilokavijayapattidanagatha.
Verses recited by King Tilokvijaya of dedicating merit to all beings.


Yankiñci kusalaṃ kaṃmaṃ,                                  Whatever wholesome Kamma, an  action
Kattabbaṃ kiriyaṃ mama,                                      fit to be done by me,
Kāyéna vācā manasā                                                 by body, speech and by mind done for
Tidasé sugataṃ kataṃ,                                                            going happily to ( the heavens of) the
                                                                                                Thirty,
Yé sattā saññino atthi                                                               Whatever beings there are having
Yé ca sattā asaññino,                                                                perception, and whatever beings are
                                                                                                Without perception,
Kataṃ puññaphalaṃ mayhaṃ                                               in the fruit o my merits which has been
Sabbé bhāgī bhavantu té.                                        Done the fruit of merits given by me.
Yé taṃ kataṃ suviditaṃ                                                        whatever merit I have done and
Dinnaṃ puññaphalaṅ mayā                                     given them
Yé ca tattha na jānanti                                                              but those who do not know about that
Dévā gantavā nivédayuṃ.                                       May the devas announce to them,
Sabbé lokamhi yé sattā                                                         All those beings in the world ( who live
Jivantāhārahétukā,                                                     be means of) any of the four kinds (of)
                                                                                                Nutriment,
Manuññaṃ bhojanaṃ sabbé                                   May they all receive this delightful food
Labhantu mama cétasāti.                                        of my mind.

11 สัพพะปัตติทานะคาถา  :  Sabbapattidanagatha :
Verse for the Dedication of Merits toward all beings.

Punnassidāni katassa,                                                             May the merits made by me now or at
Yānaññāni katāni mé,                                                                some other time, be shared
Tésanca bhāgino hontu,                                           among all beings here infinite,
Sattānantappamānakā,                                                             immeasurable;
Yé piyā gunavantā ca,                                                               those dear to me and virtuous as
Mayhaṃ mātāpitādayo,                                                            mother or as father are,
Ditthā me capyaditthā va,                                       the seen and the invisible,
Aññé majjhattavérino,                                                               to others neutral, hostile too;
Sattā itthanti lokasmiṃ,                                                           beings established in the world
Tébhummā catuyonikā,                                                             upon three spheres, four kinds  of birth,
Pancékacatuvokārā,                                                  five, one, or four constutuents
Samsarantā bhavābhavé,                                        wandering in realms small and great,
Ñātaṃ yé pattidānammé,                                         my merit-dedication here having
Anumodantu té sayaṃ,                                                             known may they rejoice,
Yé cimaṃ nappajananti,                                                           and those who do not know of this
Dévā tesaṃ nivédayuṃ,                                                           may deities announce to them,
Mayā dinnāna puññānaṃ,                                        By rejoicing in this cause, this gift of
Anumodanahétunā,                                                     merits (puñña) given by me,
Sabbé sattā sadā hontu,                                          may beings all forever live a happy
Avérā sukhajīvino,                                                       live and free from hate, and may they
Khémappadanca pappontu,                                   find the Path Secure and their good
Tésāsā sijjataṃ subhā.                                                            Wishes all succeed.

Saddhammaṃ muni-rajassa                                   True Dhamma of the King of Sages,
Sunantu saga-mokkhadhaṃ                                   Leading to heaven & emancipation.
Saggé kāmé ca rūpé                                                   Those in the heavens of sensuality &
Giri-sikharataté c’antalikkhé vimāné                                form, On peaks & mountain precipices,
Dīpé ratthé ca gāmé                                                    in palaces floating in the sky, in islands
Taruvana-gahané géha-vatthumhi khétté.     Countries, & towns, In groves of trees &
                                                                                                Thickets, around homesites & fields.

Bhummā cayantu dévā                                                              And the earth-devas, spirits,                         
Jala-thala-visamé yakkha-gandhabba-nagā heavenly minstrels, & nagas. In water,
Titthantā santiké yaṃ                                                                on land, in badlands, & nearby: May
Muni-vara-vacanaṃ sādhavo mé sunantu.    They come & listen with approval.
                                                                                                As I recite the word of the excellent
                                                                                                Sage.
Dhammassavana-kālo ayam-bhadanta.                          This is the time to listen to the Dhamma,
Dhammassavana-kālo ayam-bhadanta.                          Venerable Sirs, This is the time to listen
Dhammassavana-kālo ayamk-bhadanta.                        To the Dhamma, Severable sirs. This is                                                                                                     the time to listen to the Dhamma,

Hitāya sabba-pāṇinaṃ
Pūretvā pāramī sabbā
Patto sambodhim-uttamaṃ.

For the benefit of all beings,
Having fulfilled all the perfections,
Attained the highest self-awakening.

Yo cakkhumā moha-mālāpakattho,                   The One with Vision, with the stain of
Samaṃ va buddho sugato vimutto,                    delusion removed, Self-awakened,
Marassa pāsā vinimocayanto,                                              Well-gone,& Released, Freed from the
Pāpési khemaṃ janataṃ vineyyaṃ.                  Snares of  Mortal Temptation, He leads
                                                                                                Humanity from evil to security.
Buddhaṃ varamtaṃ sirasā namāmi,                 I pay homage with my head to that
Lokassa nathañca vināyakañca.                                         Excellent Buddha, The Protector &
Tan-téjasā té jaya-siddhi hotu,                                            Mentor for the world, By the power
Sabb’antarāyā ca vinasamentu.                                          Of this, may you have triumph &
                                                                                                Suces, and may all your dangers be
                                                                                                Destroyed.
Dhammo dhajo yo viya tassa satthu,                               The Teacher’s Dhamma, like a banner,
Dassési lokassa visuddhi-maggaṃ,                 Show the path of purity to the world.
Niyyaniko dhamma-dharassa dhārī,                  Leading out, upholding those who
Sātāvaho santikaro sucinno.                                 Uphold it, Rightly accomplished, it bring
                                                                                                Pleasure, makes peace.
Dhammaṃ varantaṃ sirasā namāmi,                               I pay homage with my head to that
Mohappadalaṃ upasanta-dāhaṃ,                       excellent Dhamma, which pierces
Tan-tejasā te jaya-siddhi hotu,                                             delusion and makes fever grow calm,
Sabb’antarāyā ca vināsamentu.                                          By the power of this, may you have
                                                                                                Triumph & success, and may all your
                                                                                                Dangers be destroyed.
Saddhamma-séna sugatānugo yo,                     The True Dhamma’s army, following the
Lokassa papūpakilesa-jetā,                                   One Well-Gone, is victor over the evils
Santo sayaṃ santi-niyojako ca,                                          & corruptions of the world. Self-calmed,
Svākkhāta-dhammaṃ viditaṃ karoti.                               It is calming & without fetter, and makes
                                                                                                The well-taught Dhamma be known.
Sanghaṃ varantaṃ sirasā namāmi,                  I pay homage with my head to that
Buddhanubuddhaṃ sam-sīla-ditthiṃ,                               excellent Sangha, awakened after the
Tan-téjasā té jaya-siddhi hotu,                                            Awakened,harmonious in virtue  &
Sabb’antarāyā ca vinasamentu.                                        View. By the power of this, may you
                                                                                                Have triumph & success, and may all
                                                                                                Your dangers be destroyed.

Tésaṃ dhammañca saṅghañca,                                          I pay devoted homage to their
Ādaréna namāmi’haṃ,                                                               Dhamma & Sangha.
namakārānubhjāvéna,                                                               Through the power of this homage,
Hantvā sabbé upaddavé,                                          having demolished all misfortunes,
Anékā antarāyāpi,                                                        may countless dangers be destroyed
Vinansssantu asésato.                                                             Without trace.

1Namo arahato sammā-                                                         Homage to the Great seer, the worthy
sambuddhassa mahésino                                        One, Rightly Self-awakened.
2Namo uttama-dhammassa,                                  Homage to the highest Dhamma, well-
Svākkhātasséva tenidha.                                        Taught by him here.
3Namo mahā –sanghassāpi,                                   And homage to the Great Sangha,
Visuddha-sīla-ditthino.                                                              Pure in virtue & view.
4Namo omātyaraddhassa,                                      Homage to the Triple Gem
Ratanattayassa sādhukaṃ.                                   Beginning with auspiciously with AUM.
5Namo omākātītassa,                                                                And homage to those three objects that
Tassa vatthuttayassapi.                                          Have left base things behind.
6Namo-kārappabhāvéna,                                                         By the potency of this homage, may
Vigacchantu upaddavā.                                                            Misfortunes disappear.
7Namo-kārānubhāvéna,                                                            By the potency of this homage,
Suvatthi hotu sabbadā.                                                             May there always be well-being.
8Namo-karassa téjéna,                                                             By the power of this homage, may
Vidhimhi homi, téjavā.                                                              Success in this ceremony be mine.

9 มังคละสูตร  : maṅgala sutta :The Discourse on Good Fortune.

[Évaṃ mé suttaṃ]                                                       I have heard that at one time the Blessed
Ékaṃ samayaṃ Bhagavā,                                      One was staying in Savatthi at Jeta’s
Sāvatthiyaṃ viharati,                                                                Grove, Anathapindika’s park.
Jétavané Anāthapindikassa, ārāmé.
Atha kho aññatāra devatā,                                      Then a certain devata, in the far extreme
Abhikkantāya rattiyā,                                                                of the night, her extreme radiance
Abhikkanta-vannā,                                                      lighting up the entirety of Jeta’s
Kévala-kappaṃ jétavanaṃ obhāsetvā,                           Grove, approached the Blessed
Yéna Bhagavā tén’upasaṇkami.                                        One.
Upasaṇkamitvā Bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā  On approaching, having bowed down
Ékamantaṃ atthāsi.                                                   The Blessed One, she stood to one side.
Ékam-antaṃ thitā kho sā dévatā                        As she stood to one side, she addressed
Bhagavantaṃ gāthāya ajjhabhāsi.                     A verse to the Blessed One.

“Bahū devā manussā ca,                                         “Many devas &  humans beings give
Mangalāni acintayuṃ,                                                               thought to good fortune,
Akaṅkhamānā sotthānaṃ,                                       Desiring well-being. Tell, then, the
Brūhi maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                      Highest good fortune.”

“ Asévanā ca bālānaṃ,                                                             “Not consorting with fools, consorting
Panditānañca sévanā,                                                               with the wise, paying homage to those
Pūjā ca pūjānīyānaṃ,                                                                who deserve homage: This is the highest
Étam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                      Good fortune.

Patirūpa-désa-vāso ca ,                                                           Living in a civilized country, having
Pubbé ca kata – puññatā,                                         made merit in the past, directing oneself
Atta-sammā-panidhi ca,                                                           rightly:
Étam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                     This is the highest fortune.

Bāhu-saccañcā sippañca,                                       Broad knowledge, skill, discipline
Vinayo ca susikkhito,                                                                well-mastered:
Subhāsitā ca yā vācā,                                                               words well-spoken:
Étam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                     This is the highest good fortune.

Mātā-pitu-upaṭṭhānaṃ,                                                              Support for one’s parents, assistance
Puttā-dārassa saṅgaho,                                                           to one’s wife & children,
Anākulā ca kammantā,                                                             jobs that are not left unfinished:
Étam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                     This is the highest good fortune.

Dānañca dhamma-cariyā ca,                                 Generosity, living by the Dhamma,
ñātakānañca saṅgaho,                                                              assistance to one’s relatives,
Anavajjāni kammāni,                                                  Deeds that are blameless:
Étam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                     This is the highest good fortune.

ārati virati pāpā,                                                                         Avoiding, abstaining from evil,
Majja-pānā ca saññamo,                                          refraining from intoxicants,
Appamādo ca dhammésu,                                       Being uncomplacent with regard to
Étam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                     Qualities of the mind: This is the highest
                                                                                                Good fortune.
Gāravo ca nivāto ca,                                                  Respect, humility, contentment,
Santutthī ca kataññutā,                                                            gratitude, hearing the Dhamma on timely
Kāléna dhammassavanaṃ,                                    occasion:
Étam-maṅgalam-muttamaṃ.                                 This is the highest good fortune.

Khantī ca sovacassatā,                                                            Patience, composure, seeing
Samaṇānañca dassanaṃ,                                       contemplatives, Discussing the Dhamma
Kaléna dhamma-sākacchā,                                    on timely occasions:
Étam-maṅglam-uttamaṃ.                                        This is the highest good fortune.

Tapo ca brahma-cariyañca,                                    Austerity, celibacy, seeing the Noble
Ariya-saccāna-dassanaṃ,                                      Truths,
Nibbāna-sacchi-kiriyā ca,                                       Realizing Liberation:
Étam-maṅglam-uttamaṃ.                                        This is the highest good fortune.

Phuṭṭhassa loka-dhamméhi,                                  A mind that, when touched by the ways
Cittaṃ yassa na kampati,                                      of the world, is unshaken, sorrowless,
Asokaṃ virajaṃ khamaṃ,                                       dustless, secure:
Étam-maṅgalam-uttamaṃ.                                     This is the highest good fortune.

Étādisāni katvāna,                                                      Everywhere undefeated when doing
Sabbattham-aparājitā,                                                           these things, people go everywhere
Sabbattha sotthiṃ gacchanti,                                               in well-being:
Tan-tésaṃ maṅgalam-uttamanti.                        This is their highest good fortune.”

10 ระตะนะสูตร  :
Ratama  Sutta  : Discourse on Treasure Gem.

1.   Yanīdha bhūtāni samāgatāni,                       Whatever beings are gathered here,
Bhūmmāni va yaniva antalikkhé,                                      Whether terrestrial, or celestial,
Sabbéva bhūtā sumanā bhavantu,                     Aide ye, beings all, with loving hearts,
Athopi  sakkacca sunantu bhāsitaṃ.                                And listen carefully to these words.
2.   Tasmā hi bhūtā nisametha sabbé,                             Pay heed, then, ye beings all,
Mettaṃ karotha manusiyā pajāya,                    how loving kindness to human beings,
Divā ca ratto ca haranti yé baliṃ,                       Day and night, they bring thee offerings,
Tasmā hi né rakkhattha appamattā.                  o protect them ever with diligence.
3.   Yaṃ kiñci vittaṃ idha vā, huraṃ vā,                        whatever treasure there be in this or
Saggesu vā yaṃ ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                   other world, Whatever precious jewel
Na no samaṃ atti Tathāgaténa,                                           there be in the heavens, there is nothing
Idampi buddhé ratanaṃ paṇītaṃ                         To equal the Truth-Bearer, This is  the
Excelling quality in the Buddha,
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!.                                             By thisAssertion of truth, may well-being
Prevail!
4.   Khayaṃ virāgaṃ amataṃ panītaṃ,                           he exhaustion of defilements,
Yadajjhagā Sakyamunī samāhito,                      The passion-free, deathless, highest state,
Na téna dhamména samatthi kiñci,                   which the tranquil Sakyan sage realized,
Idampi Dhammé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                   here is nothing to equal that Supreme
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               State. This is the excelling quality, in the                                                                                   dhamma. By this assertion of truth, may
Well-being prevail!
5.   Yam Buddha-settho parivannayī suciṃ, The Supreme Sanctity, which the
Samādhi manantarikaññamāhu,                                          Buddha extolled, As transcendental
Samādhinā téna samo na vijjati,                                         Uninterrupted ecstasy, Noting equal that
Idampi Dhammé ratanaṃ paniīaṃ,                     blissful spiritual absorption, This is
Éténa saccéna suvatti hotu!                                  he excelling quality in the Dhamma,
By this assertion of truth, may well-
Being prevail!
6.   Yé puggalā attha sataṃ pasatthā,                              The Supreme Sage extolled eight saintly
Cattāri étani yugāni honti,                                       individuals, who form the four-pairs of
Té dakkhineyya sugatassa sāvakā,                  Sanctified Seers, They are Exalted One’s
Étésu dinnāni mahapphalāni,                                                disciples, worthy of offerings, Offerings
Idampi Saṅghé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                       made to them yield abundant fruits, This
Éténe saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               Is the excelling quality in the Sangha,
By this assertion of truth, may
Well-being prevail!
7.   Yé suppayuttā manasā dalhéna,                 Fully committed with a steadfast mind,
Nikkāmino Gotamasāsanamhi,                                             they have, Gone beyond passion in
Té pattipattā amataṃ vigayha,                                            Gotama’s Dispensation, Having plunged
Laddhā mudhā nibutiṃ bhuñjamānā,                 into the deathless, Partaking of ultimate
Idampi Saṅghé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                     peace won by excellence, They have
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               Reached the Highest state, This is the
Excelling quality in the Sangha, By this
Assertion of truth, may well-being
Prevail!
8.  Yathindakhīlo pathaviṃ sito siyā,                               As a votive column, sunk deep in earth,
Catubbhi vātéhi asampakampiyo,                      Remains unshaken by the four winds,
Tathūpamaṃ sappurisaṃ vadāmi,                     Even so, is the Holy One, I declare,
Yo ariya-saccani avecca passati,                      Who dwells ever-seeing the Noble-Truths;
Idampi Saṅghé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                     This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               By this assertion of truth, may
Well-being prevail!
9.   Yé ariyā saccāni vibhāvayanti,                   Those who have actualized the Noble Truths,
Gambhīra paññéna sudésitāni,                             Well expounded by Him, of profound wisdom,
Kiñcāpi te honti bhusappamattā,                                         Even if they have not been ever so mindful,
Na té bhavaṃ aṭṭhamaṃ ādiyanti,                They never are reborn more than seven times,
Idampi Saṅghé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                       This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               By this assertion of truth, may well-being
Prevail!
10. Sahāvassa dassana-sampadāya,                               One who has gained the Supreme Vision,
Tayassu dhammā jahitā bhavanti,                     For him these three fetters have been uprooted,
Sakkāyaditthi vicikicchitañca,                                             Self-illusion,
skeptical doubt andsuperstitious,
Silabbataṃ vāpi yadaṭṭhi kiñci,                                           adherence to rules and rituals,
Catuhapāyéhi ca vippamutto,                                               Wholly freed from the four states of woe,
Cha cabhiṭhānāni abhabbo kātuṃ,                     He is incapable of committing six heinous crimes,
Idampi Saṅghé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                       This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               By the assertion of truth, may well-being
Prevail!
11. Kiñcāpi so kammaṃ karoti pāpakaṃ,        Whatever wrong he might commit,
Kāyéna vācā uda cétasā vā,                                  Whether by deed, word or thought,
Abbhabbo so tassa paticchadāya,                     He is incapable of concealing it,
Abhabbatā diṭṭha padassa vuttā,                                        Impossible to do so, it is said,
Idampi Saṅghé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                       Being endowed with Vision of the Supermundane,
Éténa saccéna suvathi hotu!                                 This is the excelling quality in the Sangha,
By this assertion of truth, may well-being
Prevail!
12. Vanappagumbé yaṭhā phussitaggé,                          Just as the forest groves, in spring time,
Gimhānamasé paṭhamassmiṃ gimhé,                             Burst forth in blossoms of myriad hues,
Tathūpamaṃ dhammavaraṃ adésayi,                             Even so, did he teach the Sublime Dhamma,
Nibbānagāmiṃ paramaṃ hitāya,                         Leading to Nibbana, for the highest good,
Idampi Buddhé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                     This is the excelling quality in the Buddha,
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               By this assertion of truth, may well-being
Prevail!
13. Varo varaññū varado varāharo,                    Having gained the highest of Excellence,
Anuttaro Dhamma varaṃ adésayi,                     he is the knower, Giver and Bringer of Supreme Excellence,Being ever the Un-Excellent One,He expounded the most Excellent Teaching.
Idampi Buddhé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                       This is the excelling quality of the Buddha,
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               By this assertion of truth, may well-being
Prevail!
14. Khīnaṃ pūrānaṃ natthi sambhavaṃ,                       With the past kammas fully wiped  out,
Virattacittāyatiké bhavasmiṃ,                                             And no possibility of fresh accumulations,
Té khīnabījā aviruḷhicchandā,                                               Their minds are severed from future rebirths;
Nibbanti dhīrā yaṭhā yam padīpo,                       Desire-free, sprout no more like a burnt-up seed;
                                                                                                These Wise Ones like a blown-out lamp,
cease  to be,
Idampi Saṅghé ratanaṃ panītaṃ,                       This is the excelling quality of the Sangha,
Éténa saccéna suvatthi hotu!                                               By this assertion of truth, may well-being prevail!
15. Yanidha bhūtāni samagatāni,                       Whatever beings are gathered here, whether
Bhummāni vā yāni va antalikkhé,                       Terrestrial, or celestial, the Truth-Bearer is
Tathāgataṃ déva-manussa-pujitaṃ,                 worshipped by divine and human beings,
Buddhaṃ, namassāma suvatthi hotu!                              Let us worship, the Supremely Enlightened One,
May by  this act well-being prevail!
16. Yānidha bhūtāni samāgatāni,                        Whatever beings are gathered here, whether
Bhūmmāni vā yāni va antalikkhé,                       terrestrial, or celestial, the Truth-Bearer is
Taṭhāgataṃ déva-manussa-pujitaṃ,                                worshipped by divine and human beings,
Dhammaṃ namassāma suvatthi hotu!                          Let us worship, the Sacred Teaching of the Buddha,
May by this act well-being prevail!
17. Yānitha bhūtāni samāgatāni,                                        Whatever beings are gathered here, whether
Bhummāni vā yāni va antalikkhé,                       terrestrial, or celestial, the Truth-Bearer is
Taṭhāgataṃ déva-manussa-pūjitaṃ,                                worshipped by divine and human beings,
Saṅghaṃ namassāma suvatthi hotu!                               Let us worship, the Holy-Order of the Buddha,
May by this act well-being prevail!

11 อภยปริตร  :  Abhaya Paritta  :  The Danger-free Protection.

Yan-dunnimittaṃ avamaṅgalanca,                     Whatever unlucky portents &ill omens,
Yo  cāmanāpo sakunassa saddo,                       And whatever distressing bird calls,
Pāpaggaho dussupinaṃ akantaṃ,                     Evil planets, upsetting mightmares;
Buddhānubhāvéna vināsamentu.                        By the Buddha’s power may they be
                                                                                                Destroyed.
Yan-dunnimittaṃ avamangalanca,                     Whatever unlucky portents & ill omens,

12 กรณียเมตตสูตร   :   Karaniya Metta Sutta : The Discourse on Lovingkindness.

Karanīyam-attha-kusaléna,                                    This is to be done by one skilled in aims,
Yantaṃ santaṃ padaṃ abhisamecca.                             Who wants to bread through to the state of peace,
Sakko ujū ca suhujū ca,                                                        Be capable, upright, & straightforward,
Suvaco cassa mudu antimāni,                                             Easy to instruct, gentle, & not conceited,
Santussako ca subhāro ca,                                    Conten & easy to support, with few duties, living
Appakicco ca sallahuka-vutti,                                              lightly.
Santindriyo ca nipako ca,                                        With peaceful faculties, masterful, modest, &
Appagabbho kulésu ananugiddho,                      no greed for supporters,
Na ca khuddaṃ samācāré kiñci,                                         Do not do the slightest thing that the wise would
Yena viññū paré upavadeyyuṃ,                                           later censure.
Sukhino vā khémino hontu,                                    Think: Happy & secure, may all beings be happy
Sabbé sattā bhavantu  sukhittattā,                   at heart.
Yé kéci pāna-bhūtatthi,                                                            Whatever beings there may be, weak or strong,
Tasā va thāvara va anavasésā,                                           without exception,
Dighā vā yé mahantā vā,                                         Long, large, middling, short, subtle,
Majjhimā rassakā anuka-thūlā,                                            blatant,
Ditthā vā yé ca aditthā,                                                            Seen & unseen ,
Yé ca dūré vasanti avidūré,                                   near  & far,
Bhūtā va sambhavésī vā,                                        Born & seeking birth: may all beings be
Sabbé sattā bhavantu sukhitattā.                       Happy at heart.
Na paro paraṃ nikubbétha,                                     Let no one deceive another or despire
Nātimaññétha katthaci naṃ kiñci,                      anyone anywhere.
Byarosanā patighā-saññā,                                      Or through anger or irritation wish for
Naññaṃ-aññassa dukkham-iccheyya.                             Another to suffer.
Mātā yathā niyaṃ puttaṃ,                                      As a mother would risk her life to protect her child,
Āyusā éka-puttam-anurakkhé,                                              her only child.
Évam-pi sabba-bhūtésu,                                          Even so should one cultivate a limitless
Mānā-sambhāvayé  aparimānaṃ.                       Heart with regard to all beings.
Mettañca sabba-lokasmiṃ,                                    With good will for the entire cosmos,
Māna-sambhāvayé aparimānaṃ,                        cultivate a limitless heart:
Uddhaṃ adho ca tiriyañca,                                     Above, below, & all around, unobstructed
Asambādhaṃ avéraṃ asapattaṃ,                      without enmity or hate.
Tiṭṭhañ ‘caraṃ nisinno vā,                                       Whether standing, walking, sitting, or lying
Sayāno vā yāvatassa vigatam-iddho,                           down, as long as one is alert,
Étaṃ satiṃ adhiṭṭheyya,                                                          One should be resolved on this mindfulness.
Brahamam-étaṃ vihāraṃ idham-ahu.                               This is called a sublime abiding here & now.
Diṭṭhiñca anupagamma,                                                            Not taken with views, but virtuous &
Silavā dassanéna sampanno,                                               consummate in vision,
Kāmesu vineyya gédhaṃ,                                       Having subdued desire for sensual pleasures,
Na hi jātu gabbha-syyaṃ punarétīti.                 One never again will lie in the womb.

13 ขันธปริตร  ; Khandha Paritta  :   The Group Protection.

Virūpakkhéhi mé mettaṃ,                                        I have good will for the Virupakkhas, the
Mettaṃ Erāpathéhi mé,                                                             Erapathas,
Chabya-puttéhi mé mettaṃ,                                   the Chabya descendants, &
Mettaṃ kanhā-Gotamakéhi ca.                                            the Black Gotamakas.
Apādakéhi mé mettaṃ,                                                             I have good will for footless beings,
Mettaṃ dī-padakéhi mé,                                                        two-footed,
Catuppadéhi mé mettaṃ,                                         four-footed, &.
Mettaṃ bahuppadéhi mé.                                         many-footed beings.
Ma maṃ apādako himsi,                                           May footless beings, two-footed beings,
Ma maṃ hiṃsi di-pādako,                                       four-footed beings,
Ma maṃ catuppado hiṃsi,                                      & many-footed beings,
Ma mam hiṃsi bahuppado.                                     Do me no harm.
Sabbé sattā sabbé pānā,                                         May all creatures, all breathing things,
Sabbé bhūtā ca kévalā,                                                            all beings – each & every one -
Sabbé bhadrāni passantu,                                      meet with good fortune.
Mā kiñci pāpam-āgamā.                                                            May none of them come to any evil.
Appamāno Buddho,                                                     The Buddha,
Appamāno Dhammo,                                                  Dhamma &
Appamāno Saṅgho.                                                     Sangha are limitless.
Pamāna-vantāni siriṃ-sapāni,                                              There is a limit to creeping things –
Ahi vicchika satā-padī                                                               scorpions, centipedes,
Uṇṇānābhī sarabū mūsikā,                                     spiders, lizards, & rats.
Katā mé rakkhā , katā mé parittā,                      I have made this protection, I have made
Patikkamantu bhūtāni.                                                              This spell. May the beings depart.
So’haṃ namo bhagavato,                                        I pay homage to the Blessed One,
Namo sattannaṃ Sammā-sambuddhānaṃ.   Homage to the seven Rightly Self-
                                                                                                Awakened Ones.

14  โมรปริตร  :  Mora  Paritta  :  The Peacock’s Protection.

Udetayancakkhumā éka-rājā,                                               The One King, rising, with Vision,
Harissa-vaṇṇo paṭhavippabhāso,                       Golden-hued, illumining the Earth:
Taṃ taṃ namassāmi                                                  I pay homage to you,
Harissa-vannmaṃ paṭhavippabhāsaṃ,                           olden-hued, illumining the Earth.
Tayajja guttā viharému  divasaṃ.                      Guarded today by you, may I live
                                                                                                Through the day.
Yé brahmanā védagu sabba-dhammé,                             Those Brahmins who are knowers of
Té mé namo té ca maṃ pālayantu.                    All truths, I pay homage to them; may
Namatthu buddhanaṃ namatthu bodhiyā,      they keep watch over me. Homage to
Namo vimuttānaṃ namo vimuttiyā.                   The Awakened Ones. Homage to
                                                                                                Awakening. Homage to the Released Ones. Homage to release.

Imaṃ so parittaṃ katvā,                                          Having made this protection, the
Moro carati ésanā.                                                       Peacock sets out in search for food.
Apétayañcakkhumā éka-rājā,                                               The One King, setting, with Vision,
Harissa-vaṇṇo pathavippabhāso,                        Golden-hued, illumining the Earth,
Taṃ taṃ namassāmi                                                  I pay homage to you,
Harissa-vaṇṇaṃ pathavippabhāsaṃ.               Golden-hued, illumining the Earth,
Tayajja guttā viharému rattiṃ.                             Guarded today by you, may I live
                                                                                                Through the night.
Yé brahamanā védagu sabba-dhammé,                          Those Brahmins who are knowers               
Té mé namo té ca maṃ pālayantu.                    Of all truths, I pay homage to them;
Namatthu buddhanaṃ namatthu bodhiyā,      may they keep watch over me. Homage

15 วัฏฏะกะปริตร :  Vattaka Paritta  :  The Body quail’s Protection.

Aṭṭhi loké sīla-guno                                                     There is in this world the quality of  vitue,
Saccaṃ soceyy’anuddayā,                                    Truth,purity,tenderness. In accordance
Téna saccena kāhāmi,                                                              with this truth I will make
Sacca-kiriya-anuttaraṃ.                                                           Unsurpassed vow of truth.
Avajjitva dhamma-balaṃ,                                        Sensing the strength of the Dhamma,
Saritvā pubbaké jiné,                                                 Calling to mind the victors of the past,
Saccé-balam-avassāya,                                                        In dependence on the strength of truth,
Sacca-kiriyām-akāsa-haṃ.                                    I made an unsurpassed vow of truth.
Santi  pakkhā apattanā,                                                         Here are wings with no feathers,
Santi pādā avancanā,                                                                Here are feet that can’t walk,
Matā pitā ca nikkhantā,                                                            My mother & father have left me,
Jata-véda patikhama.                                                                Fire, go back!
Saha saccé katé mayhaṃ,                                     When I made my vow with truth,
Mahapajjalitosikhī,                                                      The great crested flames
Vajjési solasa karīsāni,                                                            Avoided the sixteen acres around me
Udakaṃ patvā yaṭhā sikhī,                                     As if they had come to a body of water.
Saccéna mé samo n’aṭṭhi,                                       My truth has  no equal:
Ésā mé sacca-pāramīti.                                                           Such is my perfection of truth.

19 ธชัคคปริตร  :  Dhajagga Paritta : The top- of –the –Banner—Staff  Protection.

Itipi so bhagavā arahaṃ                                           He is a Blessed One, a Worthy One,
sammā-sambuddho,                                                   a Right Self-awakened One,
Vijjā-carana-sampanno sugato lokavidū,                       Consummate in knowledge &n conduct,
                                                                                                One who has gone the good way,
Anuttaro purisa-damma-sārathi satthā                            Excelled training of those who can be
Déva-manussanaṃ buddho bhagavāti.                            Taught, teacher of human & divine
                                                                                                Beings; awakened; blessed.
Svākkhāto bhagavatā dhammo,                                          The Dhamma is well-expounded by the
                                                                                                Blessed One,
Sanditthiko akāliko éhipassiko,                                           to be seen here & now, timeless, inviting
                                                                                                All to come & see,
Opanayiko paccattaṃ véditabbo                                       leading inward, to be seen by the wise
Viññūhīti.                                                                           For themselves,
Supatipanno bhagavato sāvaka-saṅgho,                        The Sangha of the Blessed One,’s
                                                                                                Disciples who have practice well,
Uju-patipanno bhagavato sāvaka-saṅgho,    the Sangha of the Blessed One’s
                                                                                                Disciples who have practice
                                                                                                Straightforwardly,
Ñāya-patipanno bhagavato                                     the Sangha of the Blessed One’s
Sāvaka-saṅgho,                                                            disciples who have practiced
                                                                                                Methiodically,
Sāmīci-patipanno bhagavato                                 the Sangha of the Blessed One’s
Sāvaka-saṅgho,                                                            disciples who have practiced
                                                                                                Masterfully,
Yadidaṃ cattāri purisa-yugāni attha                 i.e., the four pairs--  the eight types -- of
Purisa-puggalā:                                                                             Noble Ones;
Ésa bhagavato sāvaka-saṅgho,                                           That is the Sangha of the Blessed One’s
                                                                                                Disciples,
Āhuneyyo pāhuneyyo dakkhineyyo                   worthy of gifts, worthy of hospitality,
Anjali-karanīyo,                                                                          worthy of respect,
Anuttaraṃ puññakkhettaṃ lokassāti.                              The incomparable field of merit for
                                                                                                The world.

Vipassissa namaṭṭhu,                                                                Homage to Vipassi, possessed of vision

Sikkhissa pi namatthu,                                                             Homage to Sikhi, sympathetic to
Sabba-bhūtānukampino,                                          all beings.
Vessabhussa namatthu,                                                           Homage to Vesabhu, cleansed,
Nhātakassa tapassino,                                                             austere.
Namatthu Kakusandhassa,                                    Homage to Kakusandha, crusher
Māra-senappamaddino,                                                            of Mara’s host.
Konāgamanassa namatthu,                                    Homage to Konagamana, the Brahamin
Brahmanassa vusīmato,                                                          who lived the life perfected.
Kassapassa namatthu,                                                             Homage to Kassapa,
Vippamuttassa sabbadhi,                                        entirely released.
Angīrasassa namatthu,                                                             Homage to  Angirasa,
Sakya-puttassa sirīmato,                                      splendid son of Sakyans,
Yo imaṃ dhammam-adesési,                                                who taught this Dhamma-
Sabba-dukkhāpanūdanaṃ.                                      The dispelling of all stress.
Yé cāpi nibbuta loké,                                                 Those unbound in the world,
Yathābhūtaṃ vipassisuṃ,                                      who have seen things as they are.
Té janā apisunā,                                                           Great Ones of gentle speech,
Mahantā vitasāradā,                                                   thoroughly mature,
Hitaṃ déva-manussanaṃ,                                      Even they pay homage to Gotama,
Yaṃ namassanti Gotamaṃ,                                   the benefit of human & heavenly beings,
Vijjā-carana-sampannam,                                       Consummate in knowledge & conduct,
Mahantaṃ vītasāradaṃ,                                                           the Great One, thoroughly mature.
Vijjā-carana-sampannaṃ,                                       We revere the Buddha Gotama,

Yato’haṃ bhagini ariyāya jatiyā jāto,                               Sister, since being born in
Nabhijānāmi sancicca pānaṃ                                               the Noble Birth, I am not aware that
jivitā voropétā,                                                                           I have intentionally deprived a being
Téna saccéna sothi té hotu                                    of life. By this truth may you be well,
sotthi gabbhassa.                                                        And so may the child in your womb.

17 Bojjhanga Paritta   :   The Factor-of-Awakening Protection.


1Bojjhaṅgo sati-saṅkhāto,                                      The factors of Awakening include
Dhammānaṃ vicayo tathā,                                     mindfulness, Investigation of qualities,
Viriyaṃ-piti-passaddhi-                                                            Persistence,
Bojjhaṅgā ca tathāparé,                                                            rapture
Samādh’upekkha-bojjhaṅgā,                                                 ,& equanimity factor
Satt’été sabba-dassinā,                                                           of Awakening.
Muninā sammadakkhātā                                          These seven, which the All-seeing sage
Bhavitā bhulikatā,                                                        has rightly taught, when developed &
Samvattanti abhiññāya                                                             matured, Bring about heightened
Nibbanāya ca bhodhiyā,                                                           knowledge, Liberation, & Awakening.
Éténa sacca-vajjéna                                                   By the saying of this truth, may you
Sotthi té hotu sabbadā.                                                            Always be well.
2 Ékasmiṃ samayé nātho,                                      At one time, our Protector – seeing that
Moggallānañca kassapaṃ,                                     Moggallana & Kassapa were sick & in pain
Gilané dukkhité disvā,                                                              - taught them the seven factors of
Pojjhaṅgé satta désayi,                                                            awakening.
Té ca taṃ abhinandittavā                                        They, delighting in that, were
Rogā  mucciṅsu taṃkhané,                                    instantly freed from their illness.
Éténa saccavajjéna,                                                   By the saying of this truth, may you always
Sotthi té hotu sabbadā.                                                            Be well.
3 Ékadā dhamma-rājā pi,                                          Once,when theDhamma King was
Gelaññénābhipilito,                                                     afflicted with fever, He had the Elder
Cundatthéréna taññéva,                                                           Cunda recite that very teaching with
Bhanāpetvāna sādaraṃ.                                           Devotion.
Sammoditvā ca ābādhā,                                                           And as he approved, he rose up from that
Taṃhā vutthāsi thānaso,                                         disease.
Éténa sacca-vajjéna                                                   By the saying of this truth, may you
Sothi té hotu sabbadā.                                                              Always be well.
4 Pahīnā té ca ābādhā,                                                             Those diseases were abandoned by the
Tiṇṇannam-pi mahésinaṃ,                                      three great seers, Just as defilements are
Maggahata-kilésā va ,                                                                demolished by the Path. In accordance
Pattānuppattidhammataṃ.                                      With step-by-step attainment.
Éténa sacca-vajjéna,                                                 By the saying of this truth, may you
Sotthi té hotu sabbadā.                                                            Always be well.
